I am afraid you are mistaken Yakos. You probably just got a rash of bad
luck and the root didn't last very long. Root is NOT nullified if you
attack the creature while it is rooted. I have had times when I would root
repeatedly and the blasted thing would only last a sec or so, but then I've
had times when the root would last all the way up til it was dead. It just
varies. At 20th lvl you will get an upgrade to Root called Enstill. This
is a much better spell as I have had it last a long time and with less
resists ;)
