You can only have one pet at a time. How strong your pet is depends on the spell you cast. The higher the spell the stronger and more powerful the pet is usually. You can then boost them with pet buffs at 15 and higher.

I have a question I know that a beastlord gets a pet at level 9. What happens when he gets the new pet at higher levels does the old one go away for the new one or can he have more than one pet.
