I have a level 22 Mage and he does not carry a weapon at all. He carries a Stein and a book. Much more useful than any weapon I can find...:>

I know that Mages can't really weild a 2 handed bastard sword but
what i was wondering, other than the cheesy dagger, what weaponry can
a Mage Use? Can they use a mace, a club, a better dagger at least? I
tried getting my Mage a parrying dagger but I could't equip that
item.
