I'll agree that a druid would make an excellent starting character. I have a
54 druid and just started some alts, chanter, shammy etc.
Well having the druid is awesome to help twink out my alts. Makes questing
for gear much easier and it's SOOOOOO nice having SoE (spirit of eagle aka
lev, sow and see invis, in case you didn't know that yet ;) or SoW all the
time, oh yeah and porting is nice too. I have a need for speed. I like
getting places fast :)

Druids can help finance later chars, monks need very little gear, and you
can loot or make it easily enough, pallies have LoH which can help you
survive, and warriors are tough and versatile.

it, I think they stink, but they are good for fooling around with. Stay away
from being an enchanter(My first character) for your first character. I
thought the suggestions made were good. Warrior, Monk, Paladin, Druid are
easy to play, strong characters. I just started a paladin/magician combo and
they can kill reds. The paladin can take the hits and the magician can dish
it out.
