Actually how it works is a "ray" is shot from the center of your 3d model to
the center of the 3d model of your target. If anyting blocks that ray then
it is "out of sight".

NPC's don't have this check for the reasons below where it used to be
possible to get a monster "stuck" then nuke it to death with 100% safety.
This was known as "safe-killing".

If you try and do this today your spells won't work and the stuck monster
will nuke you until it teleports to you and nukes you some more.
