This problem is very easily overcome. First off you can simply left click
all of your buffs away, ussualy you can manually get rid of them. Or, if
that doesn't work, try this. Before you fight and buff if you know you
will be fighting something casting a magical effect on you, cast an
illusion on yourself and then buff. Then when you prepare to fight left
click the illusion off freeing up the first spot. Easy as that.
