I am mostly against this idea for a couple of reasons. I think that would mean
that if you arent in the right place at the right time (level wise) that you
would be SOL on certain items. As large as the EQ world is, I may not be able
to hit all the 12th level spots while they are still blue and above to me
(without going to a spoiler list at least). Also, I have needed to get loot off
of greens in order to retrieve my corpse before. If this were implemented for
only the special items (requiring a LORE ITEM like tag), then that would be a
decent solution, but the first problem remains. Unfortunately I see things like
a 20th level monk doing their impression of a weed-whacker through a camp of
skels and mummies that are so totally green to them. Why? They need the loot
perhaps, but it sure does ruin it for the people who are there because it is
challenging (and appropriate) for their level. The no-loot-at-all-from-greens
plan would probably fix stuff like that, but I think that would be too heavy of
a penalty for the higher level players that need to bootstrap themselves after
an untimely
death.

That seems like a good idea.
Does anyone like the idea of greens not giving special items? I know
this isn't a new idea but I hadn't thought of it for a while till now.
This would help solve the problem of big chars camping places solely for
the loot thereby excluding fledgling groups that really belong there.

The proposal I have liked the best is that of having LORE ITEM1 and LORE
ITEM2
which would limit you to one or two instances of an item. That way the
breast
plate can be
limited and the paired earrings or daggers could be limited as well.
Should be
fairly simple
to implement.

My concern over the one item rule is that rings, earrings, bracelets
and weapons can be used in pairs. It would be nice to be able to still
wear two bone hoop earrings or wield two barbed whips (doesn't apply to
me, but it does for my friends). One rubicite breastplate is
understandable, of course, as you can only wear one.
