I disagree. Mostly. My preference is as follows...

Bone Walk, Ward Undead (its cheap too), Lesser Shielding, Mend Bones, Gather
Shadows, Dark Empathy, Dark Pact.

There's no point to get Gather Shadows unless you want to do goofy stuff
that you probably don't need to be doing at your level. Ward is brutal
against the undead, and after you've practiced on your pet a million times
(did I mention this is your first Evocation thus you have NO skill in it?)
it will average 40 damage for 30 mana, which is very nice versus skeletons
and more powerful undead.

Dark Pact is very nice if you are in an area with a lot of lower level stuff
you can drain off of, but its not totally cool since you won't have many
hitpoints yet. It WILL keep you in the field more. If you are going undead
hunting I wouldn't suggest using it since you'll be Warding them more.
