You're probably looking at it from the point of
tradeskills, like baking or tailoring or whatever. A list of components
you can combine to get an end result. When actually all you need you've
probably passed up without realizing it.
Caters Realm has a list of spells for each
class. One of the options it gives in the spell list past level 50 is
Researchable or not. If so, it gives the items needed to research
it.
I believe Allah's does the same thing. All
spells that are researchable require a parchment and a quill. You combine
them with some other items in a researchers kit to get the spell.the kit,
parchments, and quills should be available at just about any mage
guild.
I'll see if I can find any more information on
that.

I have been looking for a site tha explains the
research skill. I have been to EQtraders and Casters. Is there anyothers?
Maybe with a spreadsheet of the ingredients for each spell?
