In fact, I'd suggest spending a little more money for a really nice sound card that supports suround sound and digital audio, then get yourself a set of surround sound speakers cause EQ does support it. The benefit of this is that you can tell if something is behind you, in front of you, or off to the side. And depending on the quality you may hear it approaching. That gives you a chance to meet the attacker head on rather than being surprised from behind. It's a very cool effect that I think really enhances the game. I was quite surprised and impressed when I discovered this.
