No.  This is not a major issue.  Cable modem is shared bandwidth.  DSL is dedicated.  You can share a DSL line among several computers in your house, but, like cable, it would take A LOT of computers to really slow the bandwidth down.  Your 3 will have little to no effect on the bandwidth.

I run 3 computers on a cable modem line with a Linksys router.  My 3 computers are a PIII 1.2Ghz, a P4 1.6Ghz, and a little P-100 that I installed a TV tuner card in, and I use it primarily for watching TV.  The PIII and P4 are my gaming computers.  There is no noticeable difference in speed of my connection, only in how fast the computers can process the information they are receiving.  Obviously the P4 responds the quickest because it's the fastest.  In reference to EverQuest, this means it loads and zones a little faster than the PIII.

Is there any way to fix this problem?  Sure.  Make sure all your computers are the same speed.

Thanks for all your input guys, is there a certain brand of router that you (as a majority) reccomend?  Oh yeah I have another question..say you have 3 computers and one of the three computers is faster than the others, will this comptuer take up more bandwidth on the DSL line casuing lag for the other 2 computers?  If so is there any way to fix this problem?  Thanks in advance for your answers and happy hunting!
