A ranger is a tough class to play. I played one to
40, I don't recommend it, I think they stink, but they are good for fooling
around with. Stay away from being an enchanter(My first character) for your
first character. I thought the suggestions made were good. Warrior, Monk,
Paladin, Druid are easy to play, strong characters. I just started a
paladin/magician combo and they can kill reds. The paladin can take the hits and
the magician can dish it out.
There are characters that you use for the high end
game, and characters used just for fooling around and making money, and
characters used for their sheer power.
