I'm on Tunare, started week 2. Guess its different on every server but its
always been Gfay on my server.

My point was using Greater Faydwer for a Trade market is not the most
logical or ideal place in the world :). Suggesting that evil low level
characters need to head there to trade with others doesn't seem like the
most efficient. I'm from the old school at one time the whole world focused
around Freeport. Nobody traveled to Odus.. Or even the left side of the
continent Antonica, and Butcher block was just a boatride away. It was
literally the center of the known world for over a year, therefore most
people flocked to its bank to sell. Since then the world of Norrath has
grown, yet old habits die slow. Most people on my server flock there to
sell wares. I can understand West Commons for its dual travel spires, but
there's no bank so they moved into the town. Freeport a mixture of good and
bad folk. Darkelfs heading to the woodelf town to bank.. Hehe I just don't
get it. I know the world is different and its much easier to travel from
place to place.. There's always a druid or a wizard around the corner that
can/will port you anywhere/anytime. I just know that our server Veeshan,
one of the original servers when the game first came out, evolved a little
differently then the newer ones. Ah well.

Actually I have brought most my new characters here to lvl. Only need to
steer clear of the xroads, front of the city and the couple outposts spread
out. The vendors on the way from gfay wont bother you. If you are talking
about coming on the boat, done that too as KoS. Just jump off before it
gets to the dock.

Gfay just makes the most sense to me. Wizard spires there, Druid ring 1
zone away. Bank in the same zone. Druid, Ranger, Bard, Warrior guild
masters in this zone. Paladin, Cleric guild masters 1 zone away. All 4
caster guilds 2 zones away. But the main thing is bank in the zone with a
ring. And now with SoL port point here makes it that much of a better
choice.

Kinda odd where people choose to trade. Back on Veeshan it was always North
Freeport, same to when the server was split to Saryrn. If you want to sell
an item ya camp the Freeport bank or rent a room in the Jade. :)

Well commons are good for both Lighties and Darkies...Thats why. Kinda hard
for some to bank in Gfay.

Actually I think Gfay is a trade center on not so many servers, Tunare is in
the minority here. For some unknown reason they use commons (no bank).

Yea, not a good idea to group for EXP in Greater Fay. This zone is used on
many severs as the common place to buy and sell via /auction channel.
Besides the lag created by 100+ people in the zone yaking it up with all the
shouts, auctions and price checks, you can miss a lot of text you need to
see.
You'll be a lot better off in Riverdale. One word of advice though, try to
print off a couple maps on the zones you are fighting and traveling in. This
is a good site for maps here
http://www.eqmaps.com/maplist.php3
<
http://www.eqmaps.com/maplist.php3> Also, do not wonder out into the
Kithicor Forest. At 8 pm game time this zone turns into a zone of death,
with many undead, wolfs and dark elf casters that can range to upper 50s.
Also, try to use the /friends feature. If someone seems to be helpful and
knowledgeable, add the to your friends list. You can do this by typing
/friend <name>. Many people are nice and can take the time to answer a
question you might have. With you now hunting out of Riverdale as opposed to
GFay, you'll run into a lot nicer people. I know when I head into GFay and
get bombed with tells, people looking for free junk. I automatically go into
ignore mode when I zone into GFay. I get a lot more satisfaction giving some
amour or whatever to someone I see fighting and playing the game the way it
is meant to, than giving ANYTHING to a beggar. And believe me, I give a lot
of stuff away, nothing like the feeling of helping someone out!

I have started another char in Rivale as a halfling
and I am finding it a LOT easier.
Better land marks, a road that leads right back to the
city. Not many play in this zone though. At most I
have seen 10 people when I have played. In Kelethin,
I have seen more than 70.
I think there are more merchants and stuff to get your
hands on in Kelething but I hate wandering around the
treetops always running in circles.
So I figure once I get the game mechanics down and
experience behind me, I can start another char in
Kelethin.
Sounds like you and I would agree on this one,
Thanks
