Trying this again .. haven't quite gotten used to msn yet :)

As I was saying, I have a 49 druid and a 20 cleric, and the 20 cleric is in full gold cleric-quest armor.  My druid quested for the big pieces and bought the little pieces.  To me, it's all about playing the game, and I'm not as concerned about leveling as I am about having fun.  However, to me dying is not much fun (I don't know about the rest of you).  So I bought my cleric good armor to give her better chances against the nasty monsters, not to look cool or anything.  The armor I got her is mid-30's level armor, not the lvl 60 stuff from Skyshrine.  And yes, I had people say "Oh my god" when my lvl 10 cleric in full gold ran by, but I don't feel bad.  On my server (Cazic-Thule) there are so many twinkies around, when someone comes across a true newbie the call goes out and everyone flocks to see him or her, and then they give the newb a bunch of stuff (hehe).

So the point I'm trying (not very well) to make is that whether that cleric over there is twinked or not.  Who cares, have fun, play the game.  That's what I think.  Getting envious (I know Lena isn't, but I have been on occasion) doesn't accomplish much.  Did everyone enjoy my ramble?  /em looks back over her post for a point in all that mess ...

It seems to me that the only problem with twinking is that EQ has become a
game about killing, levelling, and looting.  If it were truly a roleplaying
game, this would not even be an issue.  If your main drive in the game is
to get the bigger and better item (whatever it may be), you will always
have low level players trying to be twinked and you will always have
jealous "un-twinked" players.  But when did the term "roleplaying game"
turn into "hack and loot"?
