From my understanding, the illusions give you the base faction of the race
then any faction modifiers you've earned already are applied (e.g. if you've
killed a lot of DE guards, illusion:DE won't help you because you've earned
a very low faction with them already). So as an Erudite, you already have
the base faction and it wouldn't do anything other than make you look like
yourself *shrug*
