The proposal I have liked the best is that of having LORE ITEM1 and LORE ITEM2
which would limit you to one or two instances of an item. That way the breast
plate can be
limited and the paired earrings or daggers could be limited as well. Should be
fairly simple
to implement.

My concern over the one item rule is that rings, earrings, bracelets
and weapons can be used in pairs. It would be nice to be able to still
wear two bone hoop earrings or wield two barbed whips (doesn't apply to
me, but it does for my friends). One rubicite breastplate is
understandable, of course, as you can only wear one.
