You sure it was mez'ed and stood there? It used to be you
could mez and stun them, and the message would say it
succeeded, but it would have no effect.

I found them to be nearly immune to magic/fire/cold, until
after a molasi. Then I could usually get fire or cold to
stick (one or the other, seemed to depend on the individual
azarak).
