Correct... they will still sell back to a mechant just fine after you use the charges (any tinkered items do)
If I had to guess, I would think you can use the charges and still tinker the rebreathers.
Useing the charges does not change the item and when the game combines items into the tool box thats what it looks for.

I can't say for sure it will work as I have only ever used fully charged aqualungs but if I had an empty one I would give it a shot.

Good question BTW.

Subject: [EQ_Tinkering] Aqualungs in Rebreathers

I’m curious about the aqualungs tinkers need to use in making rebreathers.  I can make the aqualungs with moderate success but I’m still too low in skill (133) to waste valuable cash on attempting rebreathers.  My guild is planning a raid on Kedge soon, and I was wondering if we used the aqualungs for the raid, if I would be able to then use them in attempting rebreathers later on.  Do the aqualungs need to be fully charged to make the rebreathers?  Or can I use the partially used aqualungs to make rebreathers?  Also, once the charges are used up on aqualungs, do they disappear from inventory or do you end up with a useless piece of head gear?

Thanks
