Collect lots of words :) and then try research! :)
You also need to learn languages.
The first book is written in either Elder Tier'Dal (Kobold) Or Old Erudian
Second Book is in Combine
Third Book is in Dragon
Fourth Book is in Elder Dragon

There is the book that the "combining" is done in. Then there are 4 books
with spell components in them. Each in a different language. You will want
to buy these (Or cheat and get the lists at the research site...)
You will have a list of 2 to 4 components that you put in the research book,
then click combine. If you succeed, you get a spell.

Many words are stackable. Some are not. Some words come in both stackable
and non-stackable. It does not seem to make a difference which you use when
making a spell.

I seem to find a lot on Aviaks. BUT... you can find them on ANY level 16 or
higher mob, with a higher chance to find on casters. You MAY find on some
lower level mobs, but the chances are much higher on 16 and higher.

Banshee aura is no longer available at a vendor (not that I know of at least)
It used to be at the troll shadowknight vender, but is no longer. The level
16, 20, and 24 pet area available at the Troll Shadownight vendor in their
home city.
