Ahh...the past.... *sniffles in nostalgia* :)

Quick dirty summary:

Old way:
Pet would use what ever was best for its self between
natural damage and speed and weapon damage and speed.
If weapon had lower delay then natural speed of 30,
then pet would use that lower delay. If weapon had
higher damage then the level based natural damage,
then it would use that higher level damage. Thus high
level pets were given low delay weapons(daggers). High
level pet would attack with natural damage(55 damage
for example) with dagger delay(22 delay). Low level
pets were given high damage weapons( halberd with 12
damage, and it would still attack with delay 30).

New way:
Low level pets still use whatever damage is better,
but no longer compare delay. Delay is always 30. Thus
level 1 skeleton with a rusty halberd will do
insane(relatively speaking) damage. While a high level
skeleton with a dagger will not get any benefit on
delay from daggers. Two weapons at level 29 and on
will activate the pet's ability to duel wield and thus
attack more often.

New way summary:
Pets up to level 16, give one high damage weapon
(rusty halberd, rusty scythe). 20th and 24th level, it
makes no difference what so ever if you give anything
to a pet. 29th level on, give any two weapons to
activate duel wield. We can now give two of the same
kind of a weapon to a pet. i.e. two rusty daggers. I
personally like giving them two spectre scythes.

Always, weapons with processes will help the pet.
However, I don't know if the level of the pet gets
taken into effect for processing weapons. For example,
giving a level 1 pet a staff of discord might not have
the staff process as the staff goes of at level 29 and
higher and the pet is lower then that. If I get bored
enough, I might test it. Then again, I am not really
all that interested since my pet is high level and all
weapons should process for it. :)
