In my opinion, at the early levels, through about 20, they are worth it, as
the armor available for the head and waist is limited at best. As you
progress, however, you will find that armor exists that will be of more use
than the small stat boosts the headbands and sashes give. I personally have
traded in my orange/red sash for a thick leather apron, and am saving all my
coin for the executioners hood. Until I get the hood, the red headband will
suffice.
