One thing I have noticed about EQ melee classes is that none of them are
dependant on anything besides strength, and as a monk, you want str at your
level because odds are you are not the tank. I made the mistake of putting
all my points into agility, and buying all agi stuff, i am level 20, but am
probably stopping the character because he has a massive disadvantage to
everyone else.

Earrings - Get str earrings
Neck - Plat sapphire necklace (7int 7str)
Face - Anything but sheer bone, that gives no usefull monk stats
Head - Looks Ok
Rings - Fire emerald rings
Wrist 1&2 - Fire emerald bracers (or Hero Bracers if you can afford)
Arms - Nothing came to mind
Gloves - Fine, might want treant fists, but not worth the time needed for
them
Shoulder - Lizardscale
Chest - Fine
Belt - Thick leather apron (or if you can afford, Thick banded belt)
Legs - Fine
Feet - Fine

There is no other place I would go at 31 than cazic thule, in feerot.
BTW, all my items is pure opinion, dont blindly follow this please, gets me
in trouble =)
